The City of Vancouver has published its Phase 2 Engagement Summary for the Portside Greenway, focusing on proposed improvements to the Wall Street segment.
Two design options were presented to the public:
- Car-Light Street – reduced vehicle traffic, improved sidewalks, and new street trees.
- Protected Bike Lane – dedicated cycling lanes with two-way traffic and parking on one side, but limited sidewalk or greenery improvements.
Public feedback favoured the Car-Light Street option, with strong support for a safer, more comfortable walking and cycling experience. Key concerns included traffic volumes and the need for better pedestrian infrastructure.
The City will refine a preferred design based on the feedback and plans to share it later in 2025. Construction is expected to begin in 2026 or 2027, coordinated with other road and sewer upgrades.
