The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has released a new Boaters’ Handbook for recreational boaters and paddlers navigating the busy waters of the Port of Vancouver, including Burrard Inlet and the Fraser River.
The handbook provides clear guidance on:
- Navigating around commercial marine traffic and seaplane operation zones
- Anchoring, refuelling, and waste disposal locations
- Communication procedures and safety protocols
- Key rules and restrictions in effect throughout the harbour
- Maps to help understand where and when specific rules apply
With thousands of vessels using the port each year, this resource is intended to promote safety, environmental protection, and shared use of our waterways.
The Boaters’ Handbook is a living document and will be updated annually.
